cholo

cholo is a four-person quartet of four very different musicians. They write songs and practice song-writing in a space in a part of Brooklyn that shares its name with a nearby bridge. cholo is very happy to be excited about being on vox. They hope to befriend many new friends, maybe even make some fans who like their music. cholo revels in redundancy and like to make too much sense. They tend to play their instruments from the beginning to the end of the song, so they get excited about the exceptions when they slip a pause in there. Hear for yourself. Oh, and also, Felipe sings, plays a jangley guitar and saxophone, Rosa sings what Felipe doesn't and plays an SG (aka 'sexy guitar'), Gary thumps his Rickenbacker and sometimes sings along with no reason but plenty feeling, and Dave is a lean mean drum-machine, only better because he's really good at being punny too. This quartet can be caught playing slinky shows in various bars and lounges about the city (but not north of 14th st, because of that one awful incident--more on that later...)
